Thanks to this regulatory act, pre-trial investigation bodies have gained new opportunities, in particular regarding the use of modern DNA analysis tools to establish circumstances that are relevant to criminal proceedings. At the same time, new challenges have arisen in connection with the implementation of the provisions of the law within the competence of law enforcement agencies, in particular with regard to measures aimed at ensuring the state registration of genomic information. Scientists from the Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs and specialists from the Main Investigation Department of the National Police of Ukraine systematised the regulatory and legal provisions on the state registration of human genomic information, characterised the subjects and objects of state registration of human genomic information, determined the forms of ensuring state registration of genomic information at the stage of pre-trial investigation, developed recommendations for ensuring compliance with legislative requirements depending on the typical objects of molecular genetic research, and outlined the forms and types of interagency cooperation and information exchange in the field of state registration of human genomic information. Thus, practical recommendations were developed to ensure that the pre-trial investigation body implements the tasks of state registration of human genomic information.
