The research is devoted to investigating the impact of the development of digital currencies and innovative financial technologies on the functioning and transformation of decentralized financial systems in the context of economic digitalization and financial globalization.
The study generalizes the theoretical and methodological foundations of the development of digital currencies, cryptocurrencies, virtual assets, and central bank digital currencies, and identifies their role in the modern financial ecosystem and the transformation of financial relations. The peculiarities of blockchain technologies, distributed ledger technologies, smart contracts, and decentralized financial services (DeFi) are examined, along with their impact on payment systems, investment processes, and financial intermediation mechanisms.
The current state of Ukraine’s financial and stock markets under wartime challenges, digitalization, and the proliferation of innovative financial instruments is analyzed. The research explores the development trends of Ukraine’s fintech ecosystem, digital banking, open banking, and digital payment services. Particular attention is paid to the financial and legal regulation of the digital asset market, the assessment of risks associated with the cryptocurrency environment, and the formation of mechanisms for protecting consumers of financial services.
The scientific novelty of the obtained results lies in the further development of theoretical and methodological provisions concerning digital currencies and innovative financial technologies within decentralized financial systems. A model of the impact of digital currencies on decentralized financial systems has been proposed; approaches to the classification of digital currencies and the assessment of cryptocurrency market risks have been improved; and recommendations for establishing a financial and legal framework for regulating the digital asset market have been further elaborated.
