The theoretical and methodological framework of the research comprises the principles of competence-based, communicative, and professionally oriented approaches to foreign language teaching in higher education institutions; modern methodological principles of developing foreign language communicative competence; and key theoretical concepts of intercultural communication, communicative linguistics, and translation studies. The scientific novelty of the results obtained lies in the comprehensive generalisation of current methodological, linguistic, translation-related, and linguocultural aspects of foreign language education and communication; the clarification of the possibilities for integrating digital educational platforms, artificial intelligence, moderation methods, project-based learning, and creative educational practices into the process of developing foreign language communicative competence; the systematisation of translation difficulties in news, legal, economic, and political texts; and the substantiation of the expediency of combining linguistic analysis, media literacy, critical thinking, and a linguocultural approach in decoding propaganda narratives. The practical significance of the research results lies in the possibility of using them in the development of academic and special courses, methodological recommendations for practical classes, and independent work assignments for students in foreign language studies, translation, media linguistics, intercultural communication, lexicography, country studies, and related fields. The research materials may be applied to improve the foreign language training of future specialists, develop their translation competences.
