popup.description1
Research into the possibilities of using additive manufacturing technologies in the fabrication of bioelectronic sensors and the potential for improving the properties of additively manufactured biomedical alloys.
popup.description2
Research objective – To investigate the feasibility of applying 3D printing technologies to create electrochemical bioelectronic sensors, as well as to comprehensively evaluate the microstructure, micromechanical, corrosive, and tribological properties of the biomedical titanium alloy Ti-6Al-4V fabricated by laser powder bed fusion, in comparison with its wrought counterpart, to assess its suitability for biomedical applications. Research object – The processes of designing and fabricating 3D-printed sensor platforms and biochips; the microstructure, phase composition, nanohardness, yield strength, general and localized corrosion resistance, wear resistance, and tribocorrosion behavior of the biomedical titanium alloy Ti-6Al-4V obtained by laser powder bed fusion and the wrought alloy under dry friction conditions and in a simulated body fluid environment. Research methods – Literature review on the topic of the study, additive manufacturing methods, standard metallographic techniques, optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy in secondary and backscattered electron modes, energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, nanoindentation method, ball-on-plate tribological testing, electrochemical corrosion testing, methods of quantitative image analysis and statistical processing of experimental data.
