Skyba, Доктор педагогічних наук Registration Date 11-07-2026 Organization Institute of Higher Education of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine popup.description1 The purpose of the study is to generalize the conceptual and terminological apparatus on current problems of higher education in the context of European integration. popup.description2 The conceptual and terminological apparatus of higher education topical issues in the context of European integration has been consolidated and summarized based on systemic analysis of open scientific sources, the relevant legal-regulatory framework of Ukraine’s educational policy, European Higher Education Area documents and EU acts. The covered topics include: advancement of Open Science; social inclusion in the sphere of higher education; synergy of social and institutional transformations of higher education, science and economy; innovation activities at universities; higher education quality assurance and enhancement in the context of sustainable development. Rooted in the above principles and with due consideration of Institute’s research outcomes, the selection of terms and their definitions have been rationalized: 35 terms for Open Science advancement; 21 for social inclusion in the sphere of higher education; 28 for synergy of social and institutional transformations of higher education, science and economy; 42 for innovation activities at universities; 49 for higher education quality assurance and enhancement in the context of sustainable development. The results’ practical value for societal needs and their functional purpose is to facilitate the elimination of conceptual and terminological inconsistency and uncertainty in the scientific area; harmonization of Ukraine's education policy in the field of higher education with EHEA and EU legal-regulatory framework in the context of European integration; as well as safeguarding consistency in understanding terms and concepts by representatives of HEIs, research institutions, authorities and general public in the context of international communication, in particular within the framework of international cooperation on higher education capacity building, accreditation processes, joint study programmes development and establishment of university alliances.
