Objectives. I. Mother plantations of new clonal rootstocks: to study the growth characteristics of stem shoots and the branching and root formation activity of new clonal apple rootstocks in mother plantations; to study the response of mother plantations of new clonal
apple rootstocks under the conditions of the Western Polissya region of Ukraine; to establish approximate optimal operating periods for mother orchards; to determine the economic efficiency of growing new clonal apple rootstocks. I. Narrow-row palmette orchard: to study changes in the activity of apical and lateral growth and form-forming processes under the influence of different crown pruning methods; to study the effect of palmette pruning methods on fruiting patterns, yield, and market quality of the fruit; to determine how the effect of special (rejuvenation) pruning depends on soil nutrient status; to optimize methods and techniques for special pruning of apple palmette crowns during the “fruiting and senescence” life stage.
