popup.description1
2. Development and research of additive manufacturing technology for multispectral camouflage materials based on metastructures, intended for use on mobile and stationary military equipment as well as critical infrastructure, utilizing domestic and readily available components to ensure rapid implementation.
popup.description2
The project developed an additive manufacturing technology for multispectral camouflage materials in which the functional element, a cellular metastructure, is produced by 3D printing from a polymer composite filled with carbon nanotubes. The frequency position of the maximum attenuation band was shown to be governed by the geometry of the cellular structure: the wall thickness is an integer multiple of the extruded-road width, while the cellular-layer thickness is 0.10–0.30 of the wavelength corresponding to the central frequency. Independent tests confirmed average microwave-signal attenuation of 6.62–12.19 dB over 3–14 GHz and a maximum of 19.24 dB. Multilayer samples reduced the surface temperature of a heated object by 24–26 °C at a radiative temperature contrast against the background of 2.0 ± 1.2 °C. The design of an outer slit camouflage layer for the VIS–NIR range was substantiated, and methods for evaluating radiofrequency, thermal, and spectral characteristics were developed. Industrial approbation confirmed the feasibility of the sequence “compounding – granulation – filament production” and the possibility of integrating the panels with protective ballistic packages. Two Ukrainian utility-model applications were filed. The KNUTD shared-use research infrastructure was expanded for integrated characterization of materials in the radiofrequency, thermal, and optical ranges.
