Registration Date 09-09-2026 Organization Dniprovsk State Technical University popup.description1 The aim of this work is to comprehensively study the influence of the composition, particle size, and dispersion of high-entropy alloy fillers on the structure, mechanical, and performance properties of ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene-based composites in order to develop materials with enhanced strength, wear resistance, and reliability. popup.description2 The report presents the results of research aimed at the investigation and development of new polymer composite materials based on ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) filled with dispersed particles of high-entropy alloys (HEA) of different chemical compositions and structural states. The relevance of the study is determined by the need to develop advanced materials with improved wear resistance and the ability to operate under intensive mechanical loads and abrasive action. The study considers the structural features and properties of UHMWPE, as well as the potential of high-entropy alloys as functional fillers. Composites containing Al40Co12Cu12Cr12Ni12Fe12, Fe20Ni20Co20Be20Si14B6 and FeNiCoB0,7Si0,3BeNb in concentrations of 5–30 wt.% were investigated. A comprehensive study of the density, mechanical, and tribological characteristics of the materials was carried out. Wear resistance was determined under friction against firmly fixed abrasive particles with a grain size of 100 μm. The morphology of the worn surfaces and the features of interfacial interaction between the components were also investigated. The effects of the composition and concentration of high-entropy alloys on the functional properties of UHMWPE were established, and the effective filler content was determined. It was shown that the introduction of dispersed HEA particles contributes to an increase in the wear resistance of the polymer matrix. Excessive filler content may result in particle agglomeration and the formation of structural defects. The obtained results can be used for the development of wear-resistant polymer composite materials for tribotechnical applications. Product Description popup.authors Bashev Valery F. Ihor O.
