popup.description2
The report presents the results of studies on the production of chemically modified sorbents from secondary raw materials, determination of the regularities of technogenic pollutant removal from water, and development of technological schemes for their application. The processes of alkaline and acid activation of plant raw materials and carbonization were investigated. The effects of Na₂CO₃ concentration, temperature, and duration of thermal treatment on the formation of the porous structure and sorption properties of the materials were established. The optimal parameters for obtaining the modified sorbent were determined: Na₂CO₃ concentration of 15%, carbonization temperature of 500 °C, and treatment duration of 60 min. High efficiency (more than 80%) of the modified sorbents in the removal of heavy metal ions Pb²⁺, Cd²⁺, Cu²⁺, Ni²⁺, and Co²⁺ was established. The removal of organic dyes from water was investigated: the sorbent obtained from plant raw materials and activated with HNO₃ provided up to 95% removal of methyl orange, while modification of zeolite with 10% Na₂CO₃ increased its specific surface area from 32 to 58 m²/g and cation-exchange capacity from 1,8 to 2,6 mmol/g. A mathematical model of sorbent modification was developed. It was established that carbonization of industrial hemp of the «Hlynytsia» variety increased the sorption capacity toward Pb²⁺ from 103,6 to 246,9 mg/g and the initial sorption rate by 5,7 times. The kinetic data were described by the pseudo-second-order model. The sorption removal of phosphates and surfactants using modified zeolite was investigated. The removal efficiency was 97,25% for phosphates and 93,33% for surfactants. Technological schemes for the chemical activation of secondary plant raw materials, as well as the production and utilization of modified sorbents, were developed, ensuring effective water purification and rational resource utilization.
