popup.description1
Clarification and assessment of the scale of the possible impact of the construction and operation of the wind farm and the consequences of this impact on the biodiversity of birds and bats of neighboring or remote objects of the nature reserve fund of national and international importance.
popup.description2
The object of the study is the fauna of terrestrial vertebrates (birds, mammals, amphibians, and reptiles).
The objective of this expert research is to conduct a one-year monitoring of the status of bird and bat populations, analyze the findings, and—based on this—assess the potential impact of a proposed wind power plant complex in the Volodymyr District of the Volyn Region. Particular attention is focused on the preservation of the gene pool of rare species protected under international and national legislation. The research employs standard, widely accepted methods used in modern faunistic studies.
This report presents the results of research conducted under an agreement between "WIND POWER GSI VOLYN 2" LLC and the Institute of Ecology of the Carpathians (National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine). The work involved assessing and analyzing the status of bird, mammal, amphibian, and reptile populations, as well as evaluating the potential impact of a proposed wind power plant complex in the Volodymyr District of the Volyn Region. It provides a baseline assessment of the likely impacts associated with the construction and subsequent operation of the wind power plant. Special emphasis is placed on the conservation of the gene pool of rare vertebrate species protected by international and national law.
In the course of fulfilling the contractual obligations, field surveys of the bird, mammal, amphibian, and reptile fauna were conducted—using standard methodologies—within the area designated for the construction of the wind power plant. Based on the data obtained, an assessment was conducted regarding the potential for negative impacts of the planned activities on vertebrate fauna, specifically the rare and protected components thereof. Recommendations for nature conservation have been provided to address the elimination or mitigation of such threats.
