popup.description1
To investigate modern transformational processes and their impact on the higher education sector, trends in the development of systems and processes of higher education management in conditions of transformational changes, to form theoretical and methodological bases for the assessment of pathologies in the management of higher education institutions and to develop scientific and practical recommendations for improving the management of higher education institutions in conditions of transformational changes
popup.description2
The management systems of higher education institutions (HEIs) are examined amid contemporary external challenges, martial law, digital transformation, and European integration processes. The theoretical and methodological foundations are substantiated, and practical tools for diagnosing management dysfunctions in HEIs are developed.
The theory of organizational pathologies has been comprehensively integrated with the requirements of international educational standards. The key vectors of transformation in higher education (internationalization, digitalization, artificial intelligence, and institutional autonomy) are systematized, and their impact on Ukrainian HEIs is assessed. A statistical analysis of the development of Ukraine’s higher education system over the period 2014–2025 is conducted.
An author-developed methodology for diagnosing management dysfunctions in HEIs is developed and operationalized. It is based on seven fundamental types of dysfunction: formalism in collegial governance, imitation of reforms, closed personnel practices, bureaucratic obstruction, institutional incapacity, lack of transparency, and imbalance in management mechanisms. The methodology also incorporates the calculation of a Composite Management Dysfunction Index.
A set of interrelated research-based and practical recommendations is substantiated, forming an HEI management model responsive to contemporary processes of transformation.
