R&D Report: 78 p., 9 parts, 21 figs., 5 tables, 35 refs.
Object of study: Landscape ecosystems of Ukrainian Polissia.
Subject of study: Features of the structure, functioning, and spatial distribution of landscape ecosystems in Ukrainian Polissia.
Aim: To investigate the features of the structure, functioning, and spatial distribution of landscape ecosystems within Ukrainian Polissia.
The aim of the study involves the classification of forest communities in quarries, the analysis of their phytocenotic diversity and territorial differentiation, as well as comparison with natural forests of adjacent territories. The study utilizes the concepts of anthropogenic landscapes and geotechnical systems, field observations (2021–2026) in river valleys, landscape surveying, mapping, comparison, synthesis, and generalization.
The theoretical and methodological foundations of landscape anthropogenization were investigated, natural and anthropogenic factors of their transformation were determined, and changes in landscape structure (degradation and swamping) were analyzed. The altitudinal differentiation of forest-steppe landscapes of the East European Plain, anthropogenic land transformation, atmospheric emissions, and the state of water resources were considered.
The study accounts for Polissia’s natural, geoecological, climatic, and historical-cultural traits. GIS, remote sensing, and mathematical modeling ensured precise mapping and ecosystem assessment. An integrated eco-, geo-, and socio-economic approach evaluates natural areas.
Combining ecological, geographical, and socio-economic approaches enabled a comprehensive analysis of ecosystem patterns, spatial variances, and anthropogenic impacts, enhancing the understanding of landscape transformations.
