popup.description1
The purpose of the work is to develop the scientific basis of the hybrid method of conductive electric current and induction magnetic pulse treatment of the melt. To determine the algorithms and means of controlling the processes generated in the liquid metal system, to ensure their most effective influence on the structure indicators and mechanical properties of cast metal products.
popup.description2
The object of the study is the processes of thermo-mechanical treatment and its effect on the final quality characteristics of the cast metal. Research methods. For numerical analysis, this study employs the finite element method (FEM) and the finite difference method (FDM), along with physical experiments. The scientific and technological foundations of a hybrid method of conduction electric current and inductive magnetic pulse treatment of the melt have been developed. The conditions for the most effective combined effect of conductive electric current treatment (CECT) and magnetic pulse treatment (MPT) of the melt on its crystallization ability have been determined using numerical and physical experimental methods. For numerical modeling of multiphysical processes during CECT+MPT, the finite element method, finite difference method, and integral equations were applied, and corresponding calculation algorithms were developed. Based on simulation data, a series of experimental studies was conducted on the simultaneous effect of CECT+MPT on the structure and mechanical properties of control samples of the AK5M2 alloy. Conditions were identified under which the most effective thermo-mechanical effect on the melt is achieved. This leads to improved quality indicators of the cast alloy, namely a 24% increase in tensile strength, a 1.5-fold increase in relative elongation, and a twofold reduction in the average grain size and intermetallics in the eutectic. The method can be applied in foundry production.
