The following newcomers are obtained. It is shown that it makes sense to combine the replacement of standard rim profiles by new ones for a freight car running at higher speeds with set up of the elastic-frictional bearings for supporting a body on trucks. It is found that new profile can be used for passenger cars run- ning at 120 km/h. A procedure and program to increase in an accuracy of date base of the geometric wheel-rail interaction are developed. Software to study multi-mass mechanical system vibrations, for example a freight car under various wear in wheels, and to image vibrations in the solution of the problem is updated. A mathematical model and its program making it possible to correct wheel profile from calculated wear-ont factors are developed. Stressed-strained state of wheel and rail is defined for various load sehematics. Results obtained will be used to solve the practical problems on updating freight cars.
