Stucki Company are made to update trucks of different types of freight cars. The efficiency of a complex improvement of freight car trucks, proposed by ITM (based on theoretical studies) is confirmed by the results of riding dynamical and operational comparative tests of a standard cars and cars with completely improved trucks, carried out on railways of Ukraine and Russia in 2000-2005. An analysis of a large body of records of oscillation obtained during tests is shown a significant advantage of open wagons with completely improved trucks on coefficients of stability and riding qualities, especially under empty condition. The results of line tests indicate that the use of wheel having the ITM-73 profile allows significantly increasing (2-2,5 times) flanges wear rates in comparison with standard wheels. The early developed "Instruction manual for completely improved truck" is reviewed based onexperience accumulated during inspections of the state of improved elements for freight cars in operation at the stations and in depot (where the body is lifted). The data obtained can be used for large-scale introducing the complex improvement of 18-100-model trucks for freight cars to be in operation on railways of 1520 mm (the CIS and the Baltic countries).
