Ushynskyy popup.description2 Object: psychological characteristics of a professional's personality Purpose: theoretical and methodological reasoning and empirical research on psychological characteristics of a professional's personality in the context of differential- psychological approach. Methods of investigation: theoretical, empirical. Scientific novelty: first provided theoretical and methodological basis of a wide range of personality traits naturally linked as such to ensure the success of professional activity (cognitive, emotional, behavioral). The proposed structure of personality as a set of hierarchical levels (formal - dynamic, meaningful - personal and social - imperative) and adjacent areas between them made it possible to consider personality as an integral (discrete and dimensional) system of continual formations (layers, subsystems) which smoothly transit into each other. The accepted level branching is valid only for analysis, since each of these aspects of personality and activities, namely, formal - dynamic, meaningful - personal, social - imperative (normative) has specificity and evaluation criteria of its own. The relations between these aspects of personality are always dialectical. Continual - hierarchical approach allows us to consider every personality trait as a continuum, rather than discrete formation. The above levels are interrelated and interpenetrating each other, which explains the qualitative transformation, development, "germination" of individual psychological characteristics that permeate personality from the lower to the higher levels. A theoretical framework of studying professionally important personality traits of a psychologist, a teacher in the context of continual - hierarchical structure of personality was developed. Practical significance. A set of new original psycho-diagnostic methods aimed at studying professionally important qualities of future professional; b) the results of the original testing methods approbation and the data of their validity and reliability are given, test standards were developed.
