Еволюція системи німецьких голосних і зародження нових фонем. Мета - розгляд еволюції німецьких голосних і процесів, які спричинили появу нових умлаутних фонем. Методи - порівняльно-історичний, дескриптивно-аналітичний, ймовірнісно-статистичний. Отримання діахронічних ознак слова і визначення тенденцій його розвитку в німецькій мові. Зроблений внесок у розробку проблеми розвитку фонетико-морфологічної структури німецького слова на тлі еволюції його голосних фонем. Застосування - у вузівських курсах з німецької мови.
