Basing upon an experimental research into the ways English sentences containing mythology-related allusions are interpreted into Ukrainian, the author argues for the necessity to include the corresponding elements into the subject-matter of the interpreter-training course to provide for the acquisition of background knowledge in mythology and folklore related to the cultures contacting in the process of interpreting.
