(The article notes that the modern state of the problem of heroism, attempts of practical solutions and theoretical developments is the result of centuries of human development. Therefore, without a short historical discourse, without outlining the historical aspect of shaping the image of the hero the study will have no chance to success. Such an appeal to history or to genetic aspect of the problem is not well-established stereotype of scientific works, but acts as a necessary first step of any study. In our case, historical excursus helps to better understand the nature of the research subject, to use the heuristic potential of the principle of historical and logical unity, and to comprehend the peculiarities of specific forms of female heroism, the dialectic of subjective and objective factors of formation of the heroic, to rise above the empirical diversity of certain cases to the level of substantial characteristics of female heroism. Knowledge of individual and overall in context of understanding the gender aspect of heroism is preparing a base for creation of the philosophical concept of heroism, which, in turn, will be the methodological basis of applied research. And in fact as history helps to define leading concepts that the course work was updated and enriched with content, as well as the author’s understanding of the role of the historical perspective as a basis for philosophical reflection of the heroic is served in the article.
