У роботі окреслено специфіку жанру фентезі, зокрема ключову роль концепту «вторинного світу», та проаналізовано лінгвостилістичні засоби його вираження. Основну увагу зосереджено на вивченні лексико-семантичних, стилістичних і синтаксичних особливостей фентезійного тексту, включаючи аналіз власних назв, неологізмів і реалій вигаданого світу. Шляхом порівняльного аналізу оригіналу та українського перекладу визначено та охарактеризовано основні перекладацькі стратегії (транскрипція, калькування, описовий переклад, адаптація), що застосовуються для відтворення цих специфічних елементів, а також культурно-міфологічних алюзій. Досліджено також проблему прагматичної адаптації перекладу для україномовного читача. Окремий розділ присвячено методологічному потенціалу використання фентезійних текстів у навчанні перекладу. Обґрунтовано високий мотиваційний потенціал жанру та його цінність для формування перекладацьких навичок, зокрема вміння працювати з контекстом, стилістичною гнучкістю та розробкою адекватних еквівалентів для авторських інновацій. Запропоновано практичні завдання для розвитку цих навичок. The Master's thesis is devoted to the study of the theoretical and practical aspects of translating fantasy literature (based on English-language works) and its application in translation teaching. The paper outlines the specifics of the fantasy genre, particularly the key role of the "secondary world" concept, and analyzes the linguostylistic means of its expression. The main focus is placed on examining the lexical-semantic, stylistic, and syntactic features of the fantasy text, including the analysis of proper names, neologisms, and realia of the fictional world. Through a comparative analysis of the original and the Ukrainian translation, the main translation strategies (transcription, calque, descriptive translation, adaptation) used to reproduce these specific elements, as well as cultural and mythological allusions, are identified and characterized. The problem of pragmatic adaptation of the translation for the Ukrainian-speaking reader is also explored. A separate chapter is dedicated to the methodological potential of using fantasy texts in translation teaching. The high motivational potential of the genre and its value for developing translation skills are substantiated, specifically the ability to work with context, stylistic flexibility, and creating adequate equivalents for authorial innovations.
