Description
As a result of research conducted in 2023, it was
established that the most dangerous pest of potatoes is the Colorado potato beetle,
which was the subject of my observations. It is harmful during the entire vegetation
period: from the phase of emergence of seedlings to the death of the tops. It was
established that the adults hibernate in the soil, most often at a depth of 10–30 cm. The
emergence of the first beetles from the wintering places in 2023 was noted on 5.05 at
an air temperature of 16.7 °C. The first generation finished developing in 49 days. The
appearance of beetles of a new generation was observed on June 23 at an air
temperature of 24.9 °C. In total, the second generation developed - 39 days. The
maximum density of Colorado beetle larvae was 7.5 copies. on 1 bush. The total density
of all stages of the Colorado beetle increased dynamically until the end of Dec. III.
July, after which it gradually began to decrease. The maximum density of the Colorado
beetle in 30.07 was 14.2 specimens/bush. The maximum density of the population of
the first generation of the Colorado beetle was observed in Dec. III. June, and the
second generation - in December III. July The technical efficiency of the insecticide
Aktara 25WG, 25% v.g. on the 3rd day after spraying was 97.5%, against 90.1% in the
version with Anti-Beetle, 70% v.g. g., and on the seventh and fourteenth day,
respectively, 80.1% and 66.6% with the use of Aktar 25WG, 25% v.g., against 71.8%
and 50.2% in the version with Anti-Bug, 70% in. g. The yield on control was 12.12
t/ha. In the version with Aktara, the yield was 14.51 t/ha, and in the version with
AntiZhuk - 13.42 t/ha. The yield increase compared to the control was 2.39 t/ha in the
variant with Aktara 25WG, 25% in g. and 1.30 t/ha in the variant with Anti-Bug, 70%
of In 2023 17 weevil larvae were found in 1 m² of soil. Among the detected larvae, the
largest number was larvae of the steppe woodpecker - 8 specimens/m² or 47%, there
were 2 times less larvae of the sow woodpecker - 4 specimens/m² or 23%. The larvae
of the dark woodpecker and the steppe woodpecker were detected at 2 specimens/m²
or 12% each. Other villas were represented by 1 ex./m², or 6%. In general, in 2023, the
main number (94 %) of the detected larvae of woodpeckers were steppe woodpecker,
striped woodpecker, seed woodpecker and dark woodpecker.
