The fundamental equation of indentation has been obtained analytically and experimentally confirmed. It allows to receive almost full picture of mechanical properties and structural states of modern materials in different state on very small samples. The gradient deformed nanostructure wilth grains of 20-40 nm has been obtained using technology of surface severe plastic deformation of constructional steels.
