Histopathologicaly chronic HCV infection is characterized by relatively mild hepatitis inflammatory activity and low degree of fibrosis, depending from sex, age and prolongest of infection. Combination therapy of PEG-IFN-2b plus ribavirin represents a further improvement on treatment of chronic hepatitis C with a sustained virologycal response both interferon or PEG-IFN-2b with ribavirin. The antibody to collagen in the serum can correlated with degree of liver fibrosis.
