Purpose - to examine the possibility of reducing the influence of diffusion processes on a nonradiative energy transfer in solutions of complex compounds of varying viscosity and polymer films. Research methods - spectrophotometry, luminescence, X-ray diffraction, thermogravimetry. Intra- and intermolecular energy transfer are the source of a significant reduction of luminescent properties of lanthanide compounds, which widely used as fluorescent probes in biology and medicine, and in recent decades - and as emitting compounds in electroluminescent devices: LEDs, placards, etc. Nonradiative energy transfer in solutions of complexes having a diffusive character, were eliminate by freezing, sorption on a solid matrix. An alternative way is to use the reduction of diffusion of water-soluble polymers (WSP) containing functional groups, which can coordinate lanthanide ions with fixing them in the polymer structure, and created WSP viscous medium, which prevents diffusion of complex molecules. Finally, using the WSP was possible to observe the change in the luminescence characteristics of lanthanide complex compounds with different ligands in the series: aqueous complex solution - viscous solution WSP - WSP film. The possibility of the use of calibration curves in a wide range of concentrations by reducing the concentration quenching in solutions WSP.
