Results of the study are: the concept of tourism development programmes at the local level able to improve both the general socio-economic state of a region and its individual administrative units officially recognized as depressive ones; improved methods of the research of interregional economic connections between enterprises and redistribution of tourism flows between the regions of a country on the basis of the "input - output" method, the basic requirements for information support of state regulation of the tourism industry. Practical application of research results is to increase the tourist potential of individual regions and local areas by strengthening the informational component, reducing the cost of tourism market monitoring executed by public authorities and specialized departments of relevant ministries, raising additional funds to regional budgets through the commercial exploitation of the system of statistical data collection and processing. Recommendations on the organization of distributed information systems are provided in order to improve the efficiency of research of socio-economic processes. A hybrid variant of data warehouse architecture is suggested: at the level of tourist enterprises - the virtual data warehouse based on a relational database, at the level of state statistical institutions - three-layer data warehouse architecture which uses query results routine as an external data.5481
