The purpose of research: determine the present environmental status of the Black Sea (BS), the degree of eutrophication and water pollution on the basis of individual and combined abiotic and biotic indicators of the marine environment. Research methods: used traditional methods of analytical data compilation and statistical analysis, on the basis of environmental studies (BS), fulfilled the Ukrainian scientific centre of ecology of the sea in 2001-2014, using satellite data, data of the State hydrometeorological service of Ukraine data and literary sources. Integral assessment of trophic level and water quality was carried out according to index E-TRIX and environmental quality standards of the marine environment. Research results: identified current trends of nutrients in the waters (BS), the reduction in the content of phosphate and total phosphorus and mineral forms of nitrogen. Identified weak tendency to decrease in the сontent of chlorophyll-a. By the index E-TRIX is determined by the tendency to reduce the trophic status of the waters of the Odessa region. The high level of the trophic of waters saved in the areas of influence of the rivers and primarily of the Danube.
