We have developed and introduced to the scientific, social and cultural environment documents of archival and manuscript heritage of the history of Ukrainian science between years 1956-1960 kept in various academic and archival institutions. We have used informative potential of investigated documents for the reconstruction of the major milestones of scientific and organizational activities of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine within the defined period, outlining its structure, studying personnel and sources of financing. Based on the research findings we prepared for publishing a collection of documents and materials "History of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. 1956-1960" in two volumes, the publication "A. P. Aleksandrov and Ukrainian science: 110th anniversary of the birth of the scientist".
