Theoretical bases for social-geographic study of population's way of life are deepened. General trends in the development of big town's territorial-functional organization and specificities of urban way of life are disclosed, as well as territorial-functional zoning of the territory of Chernivtsi is conducted. Present-day rural multistructurality and specificities of peasant way of life are analyzed, and geographic peculiarities of rural population's social-economic state are described through the example of the Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast. Settlements' functional types as factors for differentiation of the way of life are considered. Geographical differences in population's ethnic and religious structures and their effect on determinacy of the way of life are analyzed.
