Analytical dependences describing the influence of the optical parameters of the film and its thickness on the main parameters of the plasmon-polariton resonance-its width and the position of the maximum of specular reflection-are obtained. It is found that the thickness of the film and the real part of its dielectric constant exert the greatest influence on these parameters of resonance. The obtained results can be used in the development of methods for measuring the optical characteristics of dielectric films, in particular, in the millimeter and terahertz wavelength ranges. The results of the development of modern theoretical models and also the numerical methods developed on the basis of these models for studying the resonance properties of plasmon structures and metamaterials in the nonlinear regime of their functioning are presented.
