It was established that a ball-preserving mapping between finite ultrametric spaces exists if and only if there exists an embedding of their representing trees, which preserves the degrees of internal nodes. In terms of representing trees we describe the finite ultrametric spaces, which admit the ball-preserving mapping between its subspaces. A new characteristic of ultrametric spaces that are extremal for the Gomory-Hu inequality is found. A geometric description of unbounded metric spaces which have finite clusters of pretangent spaces is given.
