The object of research is the media-class in the process of social development and overcoming the contradictions between economic efficiency and justice. The purpose of the work is to obtain holistic representations about the influence of the formation of a new sustainable social group - the media class - on ensuring the complementary unity of economic efficiency and social justice and providing recommendations for the improvement of socio-economic policy in this context. Research methods - logical-historical approach, value-institutional approach, system analysis, factor and comparative analysis, structural and functional analysis, method of statistical groupings, analysis of hierarchies and other methods. According to the results of the study: It is shown that the logic of socioeconomic development associated with the formation of the information and network economy, its subsequent digitization and financing, will have its inherent consequence of fragmentation and stratification of society, which will aggravate social contradictions, increase instability and global risks. In such conditions, there is an objective need and the need for the formation of a social entity, which could be called a medium-class. Formation of the media class will become a social imperative, ignoring which will have negative consequences for all. The struggle between the precariat and the premium class will lead to measures aimed at the expansion and development of stabilizing social forces, the subject of which is naturally the medium-class.
