Objective: creating a knowledge base for the purpose, which is used for analytical and experimental research. Research methods: analysis of the conditions of processing large parts at heavy engineering enterprises (NKMZ, OJSC KZVB, OJSC SKMZ, OJSC EMSS). Theoretical and practical results: It is established that stepper cutter processing is characterized by stable values of oscillation amplitude, which indicates the stability of the process from a dynamic point of view. Novelty: the program-mathematical complex (PMK) for automation of process of reception of models and multicriteria optimization of parameters of technological system is developed. The layout of a heavy multi-operation machine with the ability to change the machining module, developed the design of the main components, milling and drilling module and grinding module for use in modern technologies for abrasive machining. Efficiency of implementation: due to the creation of new designs of units for mechanical fastening of cutting elements, prefabricated tools for heavy machine steppers for rough turning, cup cutters for restoring the profile of wheel pairs and cutters with tangentially placed cutting plates in the housing, which will increase tool strength and processing productivity.
