The purpose of the work is to analyze the possibility of using special ultrasonic sensors to control the white-walled laser weld in order to establish the quality of the weld, the depth of penetration, the presence of defects and more. Research methods: theoretical substantiation of ultrasonic control means for analysis of seam quality in the wall area on a thin cylindrical product, taking into account edge effects (interference of waves, small thicknesses, etc.), use of special algorithms to improve signal informativeness. Research results. The possibility of quality control of laser vacuum welding of thin (about 1.0-2.0 mm) walls of cylindrical products by the size of the seam penetration is proved. Using special algorithms to improve the signal (by isolating the appropriate fundamental harmonics) was able to identify the presence of insufficient penetration of the seam exceeding 1.5 mm. An auxiliary device has also been developed that allows the control process to be carried out in a semi-automatic mode.
