The modulating effect of microplastics on the biological activity of ibuprofen was revealed in both populations. The generalization of the results of the study indicates special reactions of the organism to pharmaceuticals, opposite responses to typical xenobitics: this is an increase in lysosomal stability and activation of cholinesterase, which has analogs in higher vertebrates. Using the Integrated Biomarker Response Index, it was proved that the influence of the history of the population (eco-exposome) on the body's response to the damaging effect is decisive in comparison with the nature of the xenobiotic. In an ex vivo experiment using a model and hypothetical zinc chelators (TPEN and glyphosate), the dependence of the functional activity of metallothioneins on the mobility of zinc in cells was proved.
