The research group used the methodology of modern analytical philosophy, phenomenology and hermeneutics, also applying Nationalism Studies and Postcolonial Studies, social psychology, research on trauma (in particular, complex PTSD). The philosophical nature of research interest also determines a special focus on the patterns of individual and collective consciousness, which the doctrine of "Russian world" produces and appeals. The availability of sufficient research in other humanities and social sciences provides an opportunity for philosophical reflection and analysis of these patterns and ideas, with relevant conclusions and recommendations. A set of definitions of "Russian World" is formulated, which is based on a broader view of the theoretical and discursive legitimacy of Russian politics, through the terminology of subjectivity, and distinguishes ethnonationalist, religious-fundamentalist, legitimist and global-ideological definition, with relevant spreading strategies. The combination of religious and political in the doctrine of the "Russian world" is analyzed separately.
