The purpose of this work is to determine the magnetohydrodynamic force and induction of the onboard source of the magnetic field, suitable for forced braking of the spacecraft in the Earth's ionosphere. Research methods: experimental and theoretical. Patent research on the topic has been carried out. The force required for the braking of the spacecraft in the Earth's ionosphere and its removal from the initial orbit at an altitude of 800 km to a low orbit at an altitude of 150 km during certain time of descent in the upper atmosphere have been determined. To ensure studies of the dynamic interaction of experimental samples of permanent magnetic field sources with the flow of rarefied plasma, the "low force meter" was modernized and accessory equipment for determining the structure of the magnetic field were manufactured. The structure of the magnetic field of the Halbach array and accelerator with an external magnetic field have been experimentally studied. The force of interaction of sources of magnetic field with the rarefied plasma flow is determined. Developed procedures for measuring the induction of the magnetic field of magnetic field sources of complex structure are used in experimental studies at the plasma-electrodynamic set of ITM of NASU and SSAU. The results of the work at this stage will be used to solve the problem of current interest: cleaning the Earth's space from space debris.
