Subject of research is synthesis of naturally occurring flavonoids and their analogues, obtaining of nitrogen-containing flavonoid derivatives and their chemical transformations, biological screening of synthesized compounds. The aim of the research is finding and development of new approaches for conjugation of nitrogen-containing fragments with flavonoids, chemical transformations of Mannich bases which open pathway for introducing of new pharmacophore substituents into isoflavone, coumarin, and aurone molecules or obtaining of new heterocyclic systems based on benzopyrone or benzofuranone cores . Research methods: organic synthesis and physical research methods of chemical compounds. Control of the reactions and purity of products was carried out using thin layer chromatography and chromato-mass spectrometry. The structure of the compounds was studied by spectroscopic methods. Biological screening was used to detect biologically active compounds. New synthetic approaches and preparative chemoselective methods are proposed for obtaining of new perspective biologically active nitrogen-containing flavonoid derivatives and products of their transformations. As a result of biological studies, effective inhibitors of prostate cancer PC-3 cell proliferation and glycogen synthase inhibitors have been found among the synthesized compounds. The obtained results expand the understanding of the mechanisms of influence of flavonoid derivatives on carcinogenesis and can be used for further investigation of new antitumor agents.
