The new models of life cycle of batteries electricity storage systems (BESS) and their joint work with RES and use of traditional reserve plants are developed. The new mathematical model of joint operation of a PV power plant and BESS has been developed to ensure the stability of electricity supply when the weather conditions change and to eliminate losses on inverters of excess electricity. The mathematical model of optimization of the forecast electric power system generating capacity structure is improved, in which, unlike the existing approach, the daily electric load demand curve (LDC) is presented by consecutive time intervals to take into account the use of storage systems in electricity generation or consumption. The joint work of RES and BESS in the power system is taken into account by charging surplus generation of RES while exhausting all possibilities to balance demand coverage at a certain time interval of the daily LDC, including limiting RES generation, with subsequent transfer of accumulated electricity to peak segments. To ensure the power system balance reliability during the operation of significant shares of variable capacities of wind and PV plants, the balances of specific daily LDC are used, which determine the amount of reserve capacity at a given level of RES capacity. On the basis of the formed scenarios of Ukrainian UPS development prospects the development of structure of its generating capacities in the conditions of growth of share of RES are investigated.  Product Description popup.authors Bilenko Maryna S.
