The purpose of the work is to evaluate the parameters of the mine atmosphere using high-speed methane concentration sensors designed by EMAG for safe mining operations in the mine of PJSC «Management of the mine «POKROVSKE». Research methods - generalization and analysis of results, methods mat. statistics, calculations by standard methods. As a result of the work, the norms of methane concentration in the mine workings of the world's coal mines and the causes of methane ignition in the coal mines were analyzed. The influence of the average concentration of methane in the air flow and the speed of air movement on the formation of local and layered accumulations of methane has been studied. The scientific substantiation of increase of admissible concentration of methane in an initial stream of air of clearing workings and excavation sites is executed. "Requirements for ensuring gas safety in the workings of excavation sections of PJSC «Management of the mine «POKROVSKE» at increase of admissible norm of concentration of methane in output ventilating streams of excavation sites and clearing workings to 2,0%" are developed.
