The limits of application of causal modeling by studying the dynamic characteristics of indicators that determine the trajectories of interaction of financial intermediaries within the illegal schemes of concealment of income are substantiated. A methodology for assessing the risk of participation of financial intermediaries in shadow operations is developed, a set of patterns of trajectories of their interactions according to the level of probability of participation in shadow operations are formed. The methodological approach to the formalization of endogenous and exogenous variables of the causal model, which determine the shape, vectors and dynamic parameters of the trajectories of interaction of financial intermediaries during the implementation of shadow operations is improved. A methodology for assessing the relationship between the illegal activities of financial intermediaries, the crisis of confidence in the financial sector and its distortions has been developed
