Objective: Investigation of electronic processes in viruses and their RNA and proteins. Research methodology: measurement of absorption, fluorescence and phosphorescence spectra of viruses and their components (RNA and proteins). The process of virus accumulation on sensitive cell cultures was optimized, pure suspensions of RNA-containing viruses were obtained, and viral RNA and viral protein preparations were purified. The absorption, fluorescence, and excitation spectra of fluorescence, phosphorescence, and phosphorescence excitation of the RNA-containing infectious pancreatic necrosis virus (IPNV) virions and the isolated double-stranded viral RNA and capsid proteins up to 220 capsules up to 800 proteins were recorded. Viral RNA and capsid proteins have been found to contribute to virion uptake. However, RNA does not manifest itself in the spectra of their fluorescence and phosphorescence. It was found that the fluorescence and phosphorescence of virions are caused mainly by proteins of the capsid shell of the virus. The attenuation kinetics of different phosphorescence bands of viral RNA were investigated in order to identify them.
