The aim of the work is to carry out structural optimization of the anode electrode of the SOFC in order to improve the electrical properties of the entire fuel cell. During the reporting period, several approaches to improving the structure of the SOFC anode were carried out: development of the scaffold anode using 3YSZ powder of Ukrainian production (Science & Technology Centre “NOVITECH” and Zirconia Ukraine Ltd., Ukraine); improving the branching of the NiO – 8YSZ anode reaction zone due to the creation of additional porosity; development of a tape casting technique of film anode electrode and electrolyte and production of SOFCs on their basis; study of the properties of composite material based on Ti ‒ Si ‒ C in order to use it as a basis for SOFC. The manufactured SOFC was tested for electrical properties and compared with a commercial SOFC with a similar composition (8YSZ electrolyte, NiO – 8YSZ anode and LSM – 8YSZ cathode) under the same test conditions (temperature, gas flow rate, fuel, oxidizer). It was established that the SOFC made on the basis of Ukrainian powder 8YSZ has higher characteristics of efficiency of work in comparison with commercial. The Ukrainian SOFC has a maximum specific power of 4.2 mW / cm2 at 800 ℃, while the commercial one has a specific power of 2.8 mW / cm2 when tested with model fuel gas.
