Subject of study: energy, environmental and fuel efficiency performance of engines and vehicles in the improvement of engine systems and the use of methods of rational use of motor fuels. Purpose of study: to develop ways to improve fuel economy and environmental performance of vehicle engines by improving power supply and control systems and the rational use of traditional and alternative fuels. The first chapter considers the problem associated with the operation of the vehicle in low ambient temperatures, justifies the need for special measures to maintain optimal thermal regime of the battery. The analysis of the factors influencing start of the cold engine is carried out. The second chapter presents the results of research on the efficiency of fuel supply control in a spark ignition engine equipped with exhaust gas cleaning system using alcohol-containing fuels with different ethanol contents. The third chapter presents the developed dosing system of mixed gas fuel, which acts on the throttle of the gas mixer through the microprocessor control unit and the executive body. The fourth chapter presents research results of the combined method of power regulation of spark ignition engine. The fifth chapter presents research results of developed experimental system for adding water to diesel air charge. This chapter also presents the impact of water adding to diesel air charge on fuel economy, energy and environmental performance of diesel. The sixth chapter presents the results of the feasibility of using a combined method of engine heating under the same conditions of the study.
