It was revealed that the heterogeneity of the biotopic characteristics of the studied observation stations is manifested in the variability of chlorophyll values. The lowest concentrations of chlorophyll a were registered in the Ukrainian part of the Tisza basin, the highest - in the Hungarian part. The spatial distribution of chlorophyll a concentration in watercourses largely depends on hydrological conditions. Their features affect the quantitative and qualitative development of algae, as well as the formation of physicochemical conditions, which causes uneven distribution of chlorophyll a.
