The purpose of the work: an in-depth study of the language practice of Ukraine with the use of lexicographic, corpus linguistic and source studies approaches, aimed at solving modern socio-humanitarian problems. Research methods: the research is based on the principles of axiolinguistics, cognitive linguistics, semiotics, lexicography and translation studies, with the employment of traditional linguistic methods and methods of corpus and contrastive linguistics on the material of Ukrainian and other languages. With the help of quantitative methods, linguistic means are thoroughly parameterized. Topical problems of historical and modern practice of Ukraine are investigated. Linguistic and linguo-discursive studies of monuments of the early modern period were carried out, a diachronic frequency onymic dictionary was compiled based on the developed algorithm for quantitative calculations of proper names in Ukrainian written sources of the early modern era. An online register of the Latin written heritage in Ukraine of the 16th-18th centuries was compiled, Latin inscriptions were characterized as one of the aspects of the functioning of the Latin language in the socio-cultural space of Europe. The linguistic explication of religious and ethical values in the Ukrainian language of the early modern era was studied on the material of written monuments of the confessional style according to their role in the formation of the traditions of Ukrainian Bible translation and the influence on the formation of the Ukrainian axiosphere. The use of the concept of the «homeland» («Oichyzna/Otchyzna») in dictionaries and texts the 16th-17th centuries was analyzed.
