The purpose of the research is to create a concept of optimal combination of rare fruit and berry crops species and varieties with environmental conditions to obtain a stable harvest with the highest content of biologically active substances and ensure antioxidant capacity, nutritional value and dietary and medicinal properties of plant products. Research methods – generally accepted methods of phytochemical analysis, statistical methods. The research work is aimed at determining the characteristics of the seasonal dynamics of the phenolic compounds content and the antioxidant capacity of rare local and introduced fruit plants. Based on the level of secondary metabolites accumulation in fruits and plant material, promising species of rare fruit and berry plants for the steppe zone were determined, and the feasibility of their widespread introduction was substantiated. Based on genetic profiling of peach hybrids, promising forms for selection have been established. Study results justify the feasibility and perspective of introducing rare fruit crops to enrich the spectrum of plant products with a high content of biologically active compounds. The results of the work are of practical significance for the optimization of methods of improvement and effective use of plant raw materials. The scientific results serve as a basis for the development of an algorithm for the creation of fruit crops complexes capable of ensuring a continuous supply of plant products during the growing season, which can be used in the field of crop production during the formation of plantations in farms.
