The purpose of the work is the development of methodological recommendations on the issues of conducting forensic commodity expert examinations in consumer protection cases, establishing the expediency of using certain methodological approaches and methods generally accepted in forensic commodity science, depending on certain circumstances of the case. Research methods and equipment - in the process of conducting research, general scientific, individual and special assessment methods were used; a cost-effective and comparative approach; analysis, generalization and systematization of materials for this problem, according to the experience of practical activities during the conduct of forensic and commodity examinations. Theoretical and practical results: the selection and study of the regulatory framework and information sources was carried out, expert practice was analyzed; studied the peculiarities of conducting research in consumer rights protection cases. The expediency of using certain methodological approaches and research methods generally accepted in forensic commodity science in cases on the protection of the rights of consumers of non-food products and food products has been determined. The novelty is the methodological recommendations developed for the first time, which highlight the modern features of conducting forensic product expert examinations in cases on the protection of consumer rights.
