The conditions for obtaining Al2O3/YAG:Ce eutectic ingots with a "Chinese writing" type microstructure in a carbon-containing gas environment by the HDC method were developed and optimized. The deviation of the dependence of microstructure parameters from the classical Jackson-Hunt model and the complex non-linear nature of their formation have been established. The study of patterns of light propagation in strongly scattering luminescent media and the test results demonstrated high functional parameters and prospects for the use of Al2O3/YAG:Ce eutectics for the creation of luminescent converters of powerful LED/LD white light sources.
