Hordeum marinum and Hordeum marinum spp. gussoneanun for further molecular genetic studies to identify the mechanisms of their salt and drought resistance. The CDS sequence of the H.mSCOR potassium channel gene from halophytic barley Hordeum marinum was amplified and cloned. The results of transcriptional profiling of Hordeum marinum plants exposed to salt stress indicate a significant increase in the expression level of this gene, which may indicate an important role of the H.mSCOR potassium channel in the formation of plant resistance to salinity (S.V. Isayenkov). The resulting CDS H.mSCOR plasmid clones are planned to be used for the creation of genetic constructs and further transformation of plants and yeast cells with the aim of elucidating the physiological functions of this channel and creating salt-resistant plant lines.
