The object of the study is natural complexes destroyed by fires on the territory of the Chornobyl Radiation and Ecological Biosphere Reserve. The purpose of the work is to assess the consequences of the fires of 2020 and the prospects for their restoration in the territory of the Chornobyl Radiation and Ecological Biosphere Reserve. The research method is an experiment, logical, statistical, mathematical and spatial analysis of data on natural complexes affected by fires based on the use of modern information technologies. As a result of research during 2020, an assessment of the consequences of fires in 2020 was carried out on the territory of the reserve. The perimeter and area of the fires were determined by analyzing satellite images. The total area covered by the fire in 4 localities was 51,806.5 hectares. The territories affected by the fires were divided into categories of land with the definition of their area. The impact of fires on the flora and fauna of the Reserve has been revealed. A list of abandoned villages damaged by fires and cultural values has been compiled. Estimated losses from the spring fires of 2020 have been calculated. Estimated losses from fires on the territory of the Reserve amount to UAH 8,523.677 million. For a more accurate assessment, it is necessary to carry out an expert assessment of the consequences of fires. Product Description popup.authors Borsuk Oleksandr A. Zibtsev Serhii V.
